our vision: Loving God and Living His Word

Acts 2:41-47 the birth of the church and blueprint for living:
41 Then those who gladly received his word were baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them. 42 And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers. 43 Then fear came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles. 44 Now all who believed were together, and had all things in common, 45 and sold their possessions and goods, and divided them among all, as anyone had need. 46 So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, 47 praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved. [NKJV]

our church mission

our mission is expressed in the phrase "loving God and living His word."
we accomplish this mission through our three-fold vision of connect, grow, and reach.

(connect) with God

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to meet the true and living God?
We’re passionate about seeing people connect with God and with one another.

When we get together, we emphasize Bible teaching so people can truly understand
God’s word and get to know His character and love for us. Jesus’ perfect example
in His life on earth is the way we know God and connect with Him. Unlike mere
religion or ritual, an intimate relationship with God completely satisfies.

(grow) close to God & others

Have you ever wanted to move to the next level in a relationship and know someone better? We love to see people grow and become spiritually mature in their relationship with Jesus.

We grow best by learning and applying the Word of God. We also grow more like Jesus by forming authentic Christian relationships in smaller groups. We’re not satisfied with the status quo, and seek Godly transformation and renewal daily so we can look more like Jesus to those around us and worship God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength.

(reach) our world

Have you ever thought about doing something radical to change your world?
Our desire is to equip people to reach our community and impact our world for God.

As Christians, we are called to serve, reach others, and get out of our Christian bubble.
We need to stop being selfish, and help those in need. Making a decision to reach out to others in love is great evidence of our love for God. In this, we follow the example of Jesus who served his friends, cared for strangers, and reached the last, the least, and the lost.

our beliefs: (statement of faith)

Calvary Nexus has been formed as a fellowship of believers in the Lordship of Jesus Christ. Our supreme desire is to know Christ and be conformed into His image by the power of the Holy Spirit.

We are not a denominational church, nor are we opposed to denominations as such, only their over-emphasis of doctrinal differences that have led to the division of the body of Christ. We believe that the only true basis of Christian fellowship is His (Agape) love, which is greater than any differences we possess and without which we have no right to claim ourselves Christians.

we believe: worship of God should be Spiritual.
therefore: we remain flexible and yielded to the Holy Spirit to direct our worship.

we believe: worship of God should be Inspirational.
therefore: we give a great place to music in our worship.

we believe: worship of God should be Intelligent.
therefore: our services are designed with great emphasis upon teaching of the Word of God that He might instruct us how He should be worshiped.

we believe: worship of God is Fruitful.
therefore: we look for His Love in our lives as the supreme manifestation that we have truly been worshiping Him.
