THANK YOU to those who participated in our beyond sunday: help our seniors project!

We visited and partied with over 100 seniors at the assisted living communities and convalescent home, PLUS we helped out another 20 seniors at their homes!

What a wonderful way to represent Jesus face-to-face to people in our community.

I hope you were blessed- I know the seniors were. I've already received several thank-you's from those we served.

Thanks for serving God by serving others. Keep your eyes and ears open for more opportunities soon.

And a special thank you to those who stayed at the church to serve us all the pizza lunch!

Here are some comments from those involved:

"We participated in the Monday Night home group Christmas Caroling night. The Holy Spirit was moving in a powerful way, blessing all 15 of us, plus the residents. More than a few tears were shed during the night as everyone joined in singing such favorites as Silent Nght, Joy to the World, What Child is This, and We Wish You a Merry Christmas.  One resident said that it made her year! Another man who had just gotten out of the hospital yesterday was there with his two sons and and as we were leaving starting singing O' Come all ye Faithful. This was especially a tear jerker as he was lying on the coach covered in a blanket. I don't think there was a dry tear in the whole place including his two grown sons. Our group is already talking about next year."
"You guys did an AWESOME job. It was so easy to sort everything for each of the families and having the labels on each item was truly a blessing.  The families that received the gifts your group purchased were overwhelmed.  I heard one of the women say that here she was basically a homeless mom, but was able for the first time, to give all her kids what they wanted. There were lots and lots of tears during the wrapping party!!"  (Lighthouse Women & Children's Shelter)

"My husband and I had a wonderful time wrapping gifts. Got to meet people at the rescue mission and also others that attend Calvary. We were happy to serve."

Thank you for serving God by serving others!

Remember: our next beyond sunday project is Saturday morning, February 13th. We'll be throwing Valentine's parties for seniors at the convalescent home and assisted living communities!
