Theme verse: “He calmed the storm to a whisper, and stilled the waves, what a blessing, was that stillness as He brought them safely into haven.”  Psalm 107:29-30

Haven High school Ministry is place where high school students can gather to worship, pray and “grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” 2 Peter 3:18.
We meet midweek on Thursday Nights @ 7:00pm at the Lewis Campus. 300 S. Lewis rd.
Also Sunday mornings during the 2nd Service at both Campuses. 10:15am Mobil, 11:15 Lewis.

Our Vision:
To inspire the next generation to have a personal and passionate faith in    Christ.
Challenge students to make a decision for Christ based on truth revealed in God’s word.
Give High school students a better understanding of who God is and what it means to follow Jesus.
To instill an attitude of service based on Christ’s example.
Finally to be a conduit for students to encounter God and grow in their faith.

What We Do:

A) Teaching the word. We believe the word of God can transform lives.
      1. Expose students to the word of God.
      2. Expositional Bible teaching.
      3. Occasional topical studies.
      4. Provoke discussion, question and answers.
      5. Help students to discover for themselves that the word of God is relevant and necessary for their lives today.

B) Worship.
       1. Worship will be God centered, contemporary and student led.
       2. We will identify and disciple new worship leaders.
We want Haven to be inviting to our teens and their friends. The environment will be laid back and comfortable.

C) Fellowship.
        1. Present a welcoming atmosphere by reaching out to first time visitors.
2. Produce a safe place where young people can be themselves.
3. Follow-up with visitors by phone, Face book, text message or E-mail.
4. Our group is a place where students have opportunities to use their God given gifts and talents (leading worship, teaching, planning, and tech opportunities).

D) Prayer.
             1. We believe prayer is vital to our ministry so therefore we have a prayer meeting at 6:15 p.m. in the youth room every Thursday night before youth group.

E) Activities.
             1. We will have activities including seasonal camps, retreats, and parties to create other opportunities for fellowship and growth.

Pastor’s note:
My wife Michelle and I have been serving in youth ministry here at Calvary Nexus for the past 8 years. We have a passion for God’s word and the youth of our community. For the last 3 years we have had an incredible leadership team, absolutely committed to discipling high school students and seeing them grow in their relationship with Jesus.
We invite you to visit one of our meetings if you are a high school student or an adult with a heart to serve high school students.
